When I got to http://myhost/limesurvey/admin I get an error that the page cannot be found.

I run Apache2 on Netware.

acces.log:

78.60.171.88 - - [04/Oct/2012:10:57:45 +0200] "GET /limesurvey/admin/ HTTP/1.1" 302 -
78.60.171.88 - - [04/Oct/2012:10:57:45 +0200] "GET /limesurvey/index.php/admin HTTP/1.1" 404 1163

error.log:

[Thu Oct 04 10:57:45 2012] [error] [client 78.60.171.88] File does not exist: SYS:/Apache2/htdocs/limesurvey/index.php/admin

Can someone help me?

I think there is something wrong with the redirection, because "Apache2/htdocs/limesurvey/index.php/admin" does indeed not exist.

Hello,

What is your LS version ?

What do you have in your config.php ? (or applications/config.config.php)

I don't have a applications/config/config.php . I do have two other files:

1) applications/config/config-defaults.php
2) applications/config/config-sample.php

LS version 2.00+

Hi - I've just downloaded LS 2.0 and have exactly the same problem - page not found after uploading the files in the zip to my server. Looks like something is missing, or redirect from the admin page is incorrect?

Looks like the zip may be corrupted and not uncompressing everything - just trying the tar file and it looks better....

I'm having the same issue.

Here are the steps that I followed:
  1. Dowloaded the current file:<br>
    wget http://www.limesurvey.org/en/stable-release/finish/25-latest-stable-release/626-limesurvey200plus-build121017targz
  2. extracted files<br>
    tar -xvzf 626-limesurvey200plus-build121017targz

  3. gave the apache ownership of all limesurvey files by changing the group</br>
    chgrp www-data -R limesurvey
  4. made the files writeable to the apache group
    <br>
    chmod g+w -R limesurvey

  5. <br> Then pulled up the website: http://intranet/limesurvey/

I have also created a mysql database and loaded the tables using
mysql -u survey -p limesurvey < create-mysql.sql
then tried to modify the config file but haven't had success. What else does the installer need to do other than create the database, and put the user/pass in the config file?

The new version 2.0 has it's own installer. You don't need to make changes to the config file. You just follow the webinterface of the installer.
