Fail to login

I have an old version (1.85) of limesurvey installed. When I try to login, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function gT() on a non-object in /home/xxxxxx/domains/plezieropjewerk.nl/public_html/limesurvey/admin/login_check.php on line 183

The survey is still running, I just can't get into it.

I tried to update limesurvey to 1.92+ through installatron which worked, but then I got an other error and the survey didn't work anymore, So i downgraded again. This was the error code after upgrading:

SELECT * FROM `iil8_failed_login_attempts` WHERE ip='83.85.xx.xxx';
Table 'xxxxxxx_iil8Ulim.xxxxx_failed_login_attempts' doesn't exist

Can anybody help me how to solve this problem?

Thanx

The "failed_login_attempts" tables refer to a new feature that didn't exist at 1.85 yet. Maybe there are still new files present? How did you downgrade?

In egneral I recommend to do a manual update to the latest 1.92 version, following these instructions: docs.limesurvey.org/Upgrading+from+a+pre...tions+for+LimeSurvey

Don't forget to backup, backup and backup ;-)

Well, I downgraded by returning the backup i've made. The manual update didn't work because i got different error codes.

I now made a new fresh install in a different directory. I now want to use the same database and the same survey's I made with much effort. Is there a simple way to use the existing database and survey's? As I mentioned I can't get into the old installation, but I can get to the database with phpmyadmin but i'm not familiar with that.

At the database settings of the fresh system you can simply point to the old database (create a backup first in case there will be a database backup afterwards).

It worked. Maybe not the fastest way. I've made a fresh install in a new directory. I've completely deleted the old directory (not the database) except for the personal template. Then I copied the new install back in the old directory. Then I only adjusted the config.php pointing it to the old database and to the old directory. And it all works again.

Thanxs for the help.
