Hello all,
While trying to connect to a local MySql all works fine.
While trying to install/connect to a remote MySql (seperate machine) I get the following error message:

Can someone help me with this issue?

1. Which Limesurvey version do you use?

2. Which database do you try to connect to?

3. Please post the DB settings from config.php (no passwords, please)

4. Please switch on debug mode by adding the following line to your config.php file:
$debug = '1';

Are there any additional errors reported on top of the page?

Hello Mazi, thanks for your reply.
1. I have downloaded limesurvey last week. The version is:
limesurvey192plus-build120311

2. I have 2 MySql servers.
A. local MySql - version: mysql-5.5.21.0, OS: Windows Server 2003 (32bit)
B. remote MySql - version: MYSQL-5.5.20-1, OS: Redhat 2.6 64bit

MySql A is on my dev machine, and I was the one who installed it. MySql B
is on another machine and someone else did the installation.

3. $databaselocation = '10.100.5.175';
$databasename = 'IN_limesurvey';
$databaseuser = 'limesurveyuser';
$databasepass = 'XXXXXXX';
$dbprefix = 'lime_';

4. done - No other errors but this:

Can't connect to LimeSurvey database. Reason: The server requested authentication method umknown to the client

Maybe its related to the 64bit OS and machine?

Thanks!

Did you change the database type? I think the DB user will also differ on the systems.
