1. What did you set as $rooturl in config.php?

2. What did you set as $rootdir in config.php?

3. Which URL do you use to call the admin login screen?

4. Please switch on debug mode by adding the following line to your config.php file:
$debug = '1';

Are there any additional errors reported on top of the page?

That all looks fine so far.

5. Are there any further hints at the server's error log?

6. Are there any .htaccess files at the Limesurvey folder or a folder above?

5. Are there any further hints at the server's error log?
Where do I find this error log?

6. Are there any .htaccess files at the Limesurvey folder or a folder above?
Yes in the limesurvey folder and I already tried to open admin.php without the htaccess.txt.

@5: This depends on the webserver, Google is your friend.

@6: As long as it is a .txt file that doesn't matter.

7. I can't even access cms.bbn.hp.com, is that a general problem?

8. You can try setting $rooturl to the absolute URL but I doubt this will solve the problem.

Thanks, I will get to it. Just one last question.

I have now installed a previous version from 2007 and this one works fine. That means something is missing on the server which is mandatory to run the newest version.
Do you know the major changes regarding to the minimum requirements from 2007 - 2011 ?

Edit: Maybe its CGI? Its missing in the server manager rules.

All requirements are listed here: docs.limesurvey.org/Installation&structu...rvey_on_your_website

There have been some changes including using Javascript at some parts of the admin backend with which some users have reported problems because of some too strict security settings.

Thanks, but I have everything installed on the server. It has to be something different.

Hmm, there is not much left that I can think of to solve the problem. Since it all works fine on another server it's definately a server configuration issue.

If you can't solve the problem, have a look at the official Limesurvey hosting at www.LimeService.com

Ok, I have now installed some previous versions. Version 1.86 works fine, 1.87+ dont. So it has to be the changes between 1.86 and 1.87+.

Finally I did it. It was the PHP software. I installed the new one and it works! I suppose somebody installed the PHP version with missing extensions, because the version was ok...

Anyway thanks for your help!
