Is this a new installation and this problem happens always, or did it work before and suddenly this behaviour appeared?

I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH member. I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time. No support via private message.

Hello, thanks for your answer.

No, this installation has been running for a year whithout problems
I have tried at different pc with differents OS and dif. browsers
Its like the cookie was erased? could be? so when i click an option there is no cookie to pass. Maybe is a server issue?
what is your opinion?

I have used the option to recover my password and the program sent a new password to me, to the adminĀ“s email, the DB looks ok, not corrupted.
I didnt loose my pass, just tried that option to see if the program was working fine.

I dont know. I need to recover the program.
Any advice would be appreciated
thanks again.

Hello,

I think it's a session file creation problem on the server. Can you acces to the server log ?

It's clearly a right permission problem on session dir.

Maybe you can test to modify the session.save_path in htaccess, or in config.php

php.net/manual/fr/function.session-save-path.php

( i'm not sur for config.php, i don't know is session are open before reading config.php or after)

Thank you
but I dont have any idea where to put my fingers

The program was running fine for a year, server support says the problem is mine (as ussual) so
maybe the problem is a new php version?
should I run a Lime Survey Update before do anything else?
Should I edit any specific limesurvey file?

please advice needed
thanks again

Ask them you can(t have access to the session ...

open(/var/lib/php/session/sess_ivv7si3mc33ife5ts3pngku3f0, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown

/var/lib/php/session must be readable/writable by fcgi.

Well..
support finally answered me!! it takes 7 days!mmm...they are very calm people...

So, if someone has similar error, here is what had happened

They install a new version of Plesk and change php mode from apache to FastCGI
It seems FastCGI has more restrictions than apache mode.

SO, thats all, now LimeSurvey is working again.

warm regards to all of you and thanks for your support.

By default /var/lib/php/session owner is www-data (or apache) system user. With fcgi, you have to put fcgi in www-data group, change the owner of /var/lib/php/session or ... there are a lot of possibility :)
