Since upgrading to version 1.9, the conditions have not been working at all. All the questions that are dependent on how another question is answered are shown. I was importing survey structures, so I thought that I would create a new one from scratch and got the same result. I tested the Demo server on the limesurvey site and it worked as it should.

I used the comfort upgrade today, hoping it would resolve the issue, however it did not.

Running Version 1.90+ Build 9118.

I think I read about a problem with conditions that was solved. However, I am not sure if it works with older surveys though. Have a look at the bug section, maybe you find what you need.

If this bug is not added/explained in the Bugtracker, please make a bug report. Be as detailed as possible and add files like screenshots or sample surveys where ever this might help the developers.

There was one for conditions added today; however, it was for imported surveys. I did not see any others. My issue is with new and imported. Also, I am running the same version as the Demo and it works on the Demo. I thought that it might have something to do with my installation? Should this still be done through the bug tracker?

I thought that I had seen something in the forums a while back on the issue, but am not able to find it now.

If it works in the Demo, it should work on your system as well. Sounds strange.

This is the post to which I was referring; however, this is not my issue. I have been using the default templates with the same issue. I guess that I will post to the bug tracker and they can decide.

Have you found a solution for this. I have the exact same problem on my install with the recent upgrade. Even if I create a new survey with just 3 questions. conditions just don't work. I"ve tried the comfort install to the latest version but still have the same issue.

I do not yet have a resolution for the issue. I reported it in the bug tracker, however, they were not able to reproduce the problem. Below is my system information. Are you running a similar set up?

LimeSurvey build number 9118
Database & DB-Version MySQL 5.0.27
Operating System (Server) Windows 2000
Webserver Apache 2.2.3
PHP Version 5.2.6

I added a new bug report 4648. I think we're seeing the same problem. I uploaded the survey export.

On my system, it fails with a theme that I have used for a couple of years (and includes a Custom_Load() reference so I can use javascript).

It does not fail with the default theme.

I'm still trying to narrow it down.

I think I have found the fix for this issue, as I was having the same problem.

It's definitely due to custom templates. At some point some new code was added to the default template and you'll need to add it to yours to get conditions working.
  1. Open up your template editor in LimeSurvey
  2. Select your template, then select your "Screen" as "Question Page"
  3. In the "Standard Files" list on the left select "question.pstpl"
  4. Wrap your entire question block in this code
    <div {QUESTION_ESSENTIALS} class="{QUESTION_CLASS}{QUESTION_MAN_CLASS}{QUESTION_INPUT_ERROR_CLASS}">
    . Be sure to close the <div> tag
  5. Optional: Replace the {QUESTION} variable with this code
    <span class="asterisk">{QUESTION_MANDATORY}</span>{QUESTION_TEXT}<br />
    <span class="questionhelp">{QUESTION_HELP}</span>
    {QUESTION_MAN_MESSAGE}
    {QUESTION_VALID_MESSAGE}

That does fix the question portion but the answer still show up all the time, but now I know the issue. The best thing for me to do would be to delete my custom templates, use the default ones from the current install and redo my customization, that way it should solve all of this issue!
