Hi all,

I'm currently running v1.87 build 8518 of LS

There is an option to update automatically. However when I click "Check Now", there seems to be no update.
How come? since v1.9 is released already?

thx
Chris
Thanks,

Chris

1.90 was released for download and manual install, but because it was a major update it was not yet released for auto upgrade. As it proves to be pretty stable I think next week or shortly after that the auto upgrade will be released. Keep watching the site or follow limesurvey on twitter to stay updated.

1.90 auto update should be available at the end of the week.

Not to be a pain, but I just went through the comfort update....and I am still showing v1.87. I am using Version 1.87 (9169), at least I am now after the update. i check for more updates, and it says no new version is available. i am hosted on a Godaddy serer and would really....really...like to avoid another manual install. Does it take some time for the 1.90 attributes to show up in my admin panel?

I had it once that after the update the version number was still the old one, but actually I had the new version already. Maybe this is your case as well?

Just have a look what is supposed to be new in 1.9 and then check if it is there. I think the way to add answer options is completely new in 1.9, if I remember correctly.
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

Hi,

I just ran the comfort update, without any problems.

The last "comfort screen" that my update hasbeen successful.
However my browser still shows the old version.
It alsways does that.

After refreshing the screen (F5) it shows the updated version.
Otherwise you can try and delete your browser cache. That might work.

In any case, if the install shows no errors, it should all be ok...

good luck.

Chris
Thanks,

Chris

Always clear your browser cache so that the new version number is loaded after the update. Otherwise this data might be taken from the browser cache and outdated information is shown.

In fact, I did clear the cache.
[IE9|Tools|Internet Options|General Tab|Delete|Check all]

I then used a computer that had never accessed the site before to check the version number.

The problem persists.

It's always something isn't it? :-) Thank you all for your help. Any further help would be appreicated.

I have now tried 3 browsers (IE/FireFox/Safari). And "fresh" computers eliminating the cache suggestion as a possible cause.

My install says there are no newer versions available.

I don't think it is browser related.
For checking on updates the server is openening a webpage, only the browser is showing the result.
Maybe your hosting does not allow outgoing http connections or similar.

But...

The browser did in fact show that an update was available. It took me through it step by step. Their were two directories missing that was causing the update to fail. They were .../locale/mt and locale/ms. I think they were missing as a result of an interruption in the original file transfer during set-up. Any way, I added the directories, and the update completed successfully.

So I think the server will allow the update.

Is it possible that i am missing some critical file in my install that would alert the program to a newer version's availability?

Thank you all for your continued attention.
David
