I've installed Limesurvey and created a survey on the website with questions and all.

I activated it and then went to the URL. The welcome screen works fine.

Then I clicked on the "Next" button. But I was redirected to the main page (/limesurvey/).

It seems to loop around and not actually go into the survey questions.

Anyone know how to fix? Thanks.

I. Please switch on debug mode by adding the following line to your config.php file:
$debug = '1';

Are there any additional errors reported on top of the page?

II. 1. Please post the URL you use to call the admin login.
2. What did you set for $rooturl in config.php?

Thanks for the reply.

No, no errors are reported upon changing it to debug mode.

Here is the URL for admin:

www.aminoz.com.au/limesurvey/admin/admin.php
$rooturl            =   "http://{$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']}/limesurvey";

1. Do you use conditions at this surevy?

2. Can you test a simple 2 question survey, does the problem show up?

3. Try to switch your survey mode from question-by-question to all-in-one or any other to see if we can break this down to a certain survey mode.

Thanks again:

1. No conditions.

2. Tried it, no luck - same problem.

3. I changed it to all-in-one. The questions are listed properly. However I click submit and am taken back to the main page with "The following surveys are available:...". The survey results are not submitted...

1. Are there any errors listed at the servers error log?

2. Do you also have problems when logging in at the admin screen?

3. Please upload a phpinfo file so we can take a look at your server configuration. Just put the following code into a file named phpinfo.php and upload it to your webserver:
< ?php phpinfo(); ? >
(Delete the spaces next to </> when copying the code.)
After uploading please post the link to the file.

I have tried installing a second independent version of the script using a separately downloaded file without luck, exactly the same problem occurs. So it seems the server config could likely be the cause here.

I also imported the survey into the test Demo - works fine on this site, just not on ours.

No errors on server log.

No problems logging into admin screen.

Public permission errors for the phpinfo(). What variables in particular would be of concern?

Hi - Is there any progress on solving this by anyone?

I have a live survey currently out with 200 targets. I have just had one person report this problem, although 19 incomplete out of 125 responses so far, so I wonder if more than one person has experienced this. As the survey is currently live, I cannot play around with it too much!

I have Version 1.85+ (7191)
The survey has multiple pages, uses conditions, and has the following question types:
- multiple options (2 questions, with 5 and 3 options respectively)
- Long free text
- Array (flexible labels)
- List (dropdown)
- yes/no
- List (radio)
- List with comment

The non completed ones seem to be randomly spread through the responses, and some may well be genuine "non-completers".

Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
Toby

i dont think your problem is the same as the original posters
theirs look like a server config issue.
Yours sounds like what users also report to me, sporadic time out problems. I have a feeling they are related to conditions but this is only a guess.
it could be also caused by load, and browser problems.
Do you use apache or IIS?

I'm having the same problem as the original poster, where I will be directed to the Survey List Page when I click "next" or "submit".
However, I was able to have the original copy of the active survey work successfully by notifying me of mandatory questions, redirecting to my defined end page, and sending the results to my email.
It's since been deleted, but until today, the active survey would notify me if I hadn't filled out all of the mandatory questions (I never attempted to send complete answers), so I assumed everything was fine. Today, it started redirecting to the Survey List. I can't recall anything I've done that would cause this to fail since the last time I tested it.

I've followed the steps from this thread:

1. I turned on the debug mode. No errors are reported.

2. Here's the survey URL and $rooturl:
eyetechofgreen.com/survey/
$rooturl            =   "http://{$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']}/survey";

3. I didn't use any conditions on the survey

4. I created a simple two question survey called "Test" that's currently active. Same problem.

5. My surveys are in two different modes: "all-in-one" and "question-by-question". Same problem.

6. No errors are listed in the server log.

7. I don't have any problems logging into the admin screen.

8. I created a phpinfo.php file. It's located at:
eyetechofgreen.com/survey/phpinfo.php

One thing to note is that the Survey List Page uses the default template. I've created a custom template for my survey, but I've used the default template for the "test" survey.
I've tested on Safari and Firefox with the same results.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I opened a ticket with BlueHost and asked them if/how I could deactivate suhosin.cookie.encrypt. (I also sent them the link to this thread, but I guess he didn't read it.)

Here was BlueHost's response:
Suhosin is built into PHP in our environment, and as a result it does not make changes to incoming requests but only offers logging functionality. If you can provide a description of the issue you are experiencing and detailed steps to duplicate the issue, we may be able to provide more assistance. Additionally, the Limesurvey people may be able to help further after receiving the information provided here.

I don't know if this is helpful information to add here, but I'll keep trying to get more help from them and add anything new that I find here. Please let me know if you have any more suggestions. Thanks!
