Theme import creates doubles - a bug? was created by krosser
Hey guys,
I exported the Fruity theme to edit it off-line (as it didn't allow me to change css styling) and then imported it back. The system just created 3 new default Fruity themes and now I can't delete the obsolete ones because they are "core" and can't be deleted... It looks like a system bug.
The logos even are the same despite the fact that I have changed them manually.
Any idea how to fix this duplication issue?

You should never edit the shipped templates. Always create a copy of the template and then edit this copy. Shipped templates are not allowed to be modified. Copy one and work on the copy.

Well, I first tried to edit the extended version. It didn't work (I still don't know why).
So I decided to export the theme and edit it offline and reupload it. I thought it would create a new theme as it was modified, but for some reason it kept the original one.
I tried it with Vanilla as well, and it did the same - created a bunch of vanilla themes.
Perhaps it is an issue of naming the zip file for import...

Yes, you need to rename the zip file and also adjust config.xml in that file.
You should be able to manually remove any mistakenly uploaded themes in /upload/themes/survey/.

Alright, thanks man! Good to know about the path, but unfortunately I'm using it on their servers. So I guess there's no easy way to delete themes.

Isn't that a issue for the bugtracker? Or is reimporting shipped themes allowed? Isn't there a write protection for the shipped themes?krosser wrote: I exported the Fruity theme to edit it off-line (as it didn't allow me to change css styling) and then imported it back.

Hi, krosser,
you are using the Pro edition.
So the best for all your problems is to contact the LimeSurvey support directly.

reimporting shipped themes should not be allowed, and it should not create 3 themes...
so it's clearly a bug...
