Hello,

I'm working with Mandriva and i'm trying to complet the database settings from the instalation.

Evrythings it's okey for "pre-installation check".

Next, i had to configurate database type, location, user, password, name, table-prefix so i I completed all fields and i cliked next.

It asked me if i want set up database with this name, i cliked "create database".

However, after i clicked "create database" i have this error :
"The database does not meet the minimum MySQL/MariaDB server version requirement for LimeSurvey (5.5.3)." and in the same time the CSS no works anymore.

I don't know what to do because normally all versions are okey and it's look like a bug.

Please, if you have an idea to solve my problem, help me.

Thank you

What Limesurvey version/build you try to install?
What distribution are you using?
The last release of Mandriva Linux was in August 2011. There were other distributions which forked Mandriva Linux.
So what linux distribution is used? And what database distribution is installed?

Limesurvey 5.5.3 ???
Perhaps you mean PHP, but that is not a valid Limesurvey version / build.

To me it looks like you want to install Limesurvey 2.5.
The minimum requirement for MySQL is MySQL 5.5.3 .
You have MySQL 5.1.55 installed.
5.1.55 < 5.5.3

Your Madriva Linux distribution is unsupported and old.
You need to use a different distribution since you won't get any updates.
Mandriva Linux is no longer existing.

A fork from Mandriva is Mageia, which is still active:
distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=mageia

Okey, i understand now.

The problem is the server belong to the society where i work and i have to do my job with this actual distribution (the old Mandriva linux)

What can you suggest to me ? which version of limesurvey can work with MySQL 5.1.55 ?

thank you

The machine you're working on is insecure and can he hacked without much effort.
If the installation is connected to the internet to e.g. conduct surveys this would be risky action.
I cannot support such behavior.

I agree with Jelo. Using unpatched servers for production use is a risk to your organization but also your survey takers. You should NOT run a survey on such a machine under any circumstances, especially if this erver is exposed to the internet.

If this server belongs to the society you work, you should talk to the server admin. The should have a certain interest in keeping their servers up to date, because as said above, unpatched servers are a risk.
