I have recently installed 2.06. The plan was to migrate a handful of our current surveys (and responses) from 1.87.

It appears this isn't going to be as straight-forward as I had hoped.

I have exported a survey structure as a CSV but 2.06 doesn't like that. Is there something I can do as a middle step to make it compatible with 2.06? Perhaps I can somehow convert it to .lss?

Hi,

1.86 is very old version. Think best is :
- Install a copy of your existing 1.86 (copy DB, copy directory update config file)
- Update this copy to 1.92 version
- Manually update 1.92 version to 2.06 version

You can :
- Copy the DB
- Install a new 2.06 and use the DB copy (or original) when select the DB table
- See what happen
It must work , but ifyou have a lot of survey : it can break due to memory issue.

Thanks for the advice to update LimeSurvey itself rather than try to import the old survey backup into the new version of LimeSurvey. I was able to update directly from 1.87 to 2.06, no need for updating to 1.92 on the way.

Background: I only use LimeSurvey once every five years, for my college reunions. That is why my most recent survey used such an old version.
