We just released a new version (1.3) of our free responsive LimeSurvey template.

* The template is now easier uploadable through LimeSurvey Template Editor
* Fonts are stored on Google fonts and on toolsforresearch.com, since LimeSurvey in earlier versions prohibited upload of fonts through the template editor. If you want to change this, add the fonts in a directory at your wish and point to them in startpage.pstpl
* empty template.css and empty template.js now available for customization via the template editor
* killed some smaller bugs

Enjoy and tell us if something does not work!

You can find it at:

The font URL in V1.3 is still on Google API, correct? I am not sure, if you want to host fonts on your server, if more and more templates are downloaded and then once installed never get updated.

The template import works fine. No upgrade error message.

The file upload question type is currently not showing one complete textline of filetype restrictions without scrolling.

In the filelist the icon is very big.

Thanks for testing, this will obviously need some work since this is the result of jquery styling, which we did not override (enough) yet.

I will put it on the issue list.

Question Type: Array (Numbers)
Advanced Option: Checkbox layout

Beside this display error I would expect empty checkboxes instead of empty circles (radiobuttons).

Thanks jelo, this is on our issue list. We are working on it.

I fear that each week we will discover new question variants. I estimate the number of variants in a survey to be about 8483659023 ...

As I wrote before: we thought we used LimeSurvey quite intensively, but as it appears we only scratched the surface...

Is this list online? Open bugtracker or something else? I don't want to waste your time and post issues you're already aware of.

We have two issue lists:
  1. for internal use only (and in Dutch): for the main development, focussed on both the free version and the Premium version, since they use the same code base
  2. issues from users of mainly the free version, but after this week probably also the Premium version: github.com/toolsforresearch/tfr_responsive/issues
Please rest assured that we focus on both!

I like the template pretty much and allready tuned it to be our standard template for surveys, but sometimes I have problems with loading the interactive elements (checkboxes, radioboxes, etc.). Especially by loading the template with low internet speed the elements won't be displayed.

Does anybody has similar problems or can explain why this elements need high internet speed?

Hi Boriginal,

we are investigating this. It may have to do with the .css which is rather heavy, duw to working with Bootstrap. We are looking into the possibilities of using a utility that cleans the css-code (remove multiple copies). Our main developer is on holiday now, this will be done in August. It will be released then and announced on this site. If you want to be kept informed on new released, please join the mailinglist, which you can find at:

Jelo reported about the checkboxes:

this issue was solved in version 1.4 which is available now at: www.toolsforresearch.com/limesurvey-responsive-template

Thank you for that response. I have the latest free version of your template. But I still have massive problems with reading out the interactive elements. Is it possible that might has something to do with permissions on the server - or something like this?

But anyhow, I subscribed to your update-newsletter...

Hi Boriginal,

I'm not sure if it has something to do with the permissions. We have not had the opportunity to look into "cleaning" the css (deleting duplicate code, possibly also deleting unused code). We will do that next month. Since you subscribed to the news letter, you will be informed as soon as possible!

Thanks for using our template. Step by step it is getting better.
