Is it possible to add the below question types in future releases?
1. Slider question with images
2. Matrix/Grid question with different question types in each column(i.e.; 1st column with checkbox, 2nd with radio button, 3rd with open ended and so on)
3. Horizontal alignment for radio button/ Rating scale

Active Directory compatibility
Separate tool login from external site from enterprise point of view.
Query string to pass values via URL.
Customizable navigation buttons
Upload attachments(doc, pdf, xlsx etc) in surveys, invitation template etc

There are some workaround I can suggest.

1. Slider question with images
Trivender: We can add images in the answer options of a array , hide the checkbox rows with jquery and then append slider after each row jquery ui jqueryui.com/slider/ . We then need to punch the values from slider to LS array.
2. Matrix/Grid question with different question types in each column(i.e.; 1st column with checkbox, 2nd with radio button, 3rd with open ended and so on)
Trivender: Have a look at manual.limesurvey.org/Workarounds:_Quest...stion_types_in_array
3. Horizontal alignment for radio button/ Rating scale
Trivender: This is very easy. Add only one row in Array question and then go to question setting and set sub-question width to zero
Survey Designer and Programmer
"I always suggest to have a group by group display layout and create a seprate group for each question. This will be extra work but you will get flexiblity to create your question by using more than more lime survey question types."

1. Slider question with images
More clear please , soma can be done with actual LS admin, some with template (you can replace default LS javascript function in template.js)
2. Matrix/Grid question with different question types in each column(i.e.; 1st column with checkbox, 2nd with radio button, 3rd with open ended and so on)
Easy way : in 2.1 or 2.2 version
3. Horizontal alignment for radio button/ Rating scale
Existing attribute (max 8 column)
Active Directory compatibility
Aut LDAP plugin (in core plugin)
Separate tool login from external site from enterprise point of view.
Any aut system can be constructed : core : have webserver and LDAP, external have WordPress. Other : AUth plugin
Query string to pass values via URL.
manual.limesurvey.org/SGQA_identifier#Us..._the_SGQA_identifier Need documentation, but if you have a question code : MYCODE, adding MYCODE=something prefill MYCODE question with something
Customizable navigation buttons
Template ... already done.
Upload attachments(doc,pdf,xlsx etc) in surveys
Upload question type
, invitation template etc
Exist in 2.05 .

Before asking new feature, pleas ehave a look at our documentation.

Denis

What do you mean with "Easy way: in 2.1 oder 2.2"?

Thanks!

No,

I mean to have an easy way to do this : not before 2.1 or 2.2 version.

You have some javascript actually.

To sum it up

The feature asked by jzworx won't be able to realize until LS codebase reaches V2.1 oder V2.2.

Then it might be possible via a workaround. There is currently no plan to actually have this feature implemented.

The reason I asked is that I wondered where to find out about the plans for codebase 2.1 / 2.2.

These plans are spread among the brains of 5-8 developers and unfortunately not documented yet.
The bugtracker should list some features and branches at which we plan to implement them.

Hi Mazi,

I think it would be a good idea to note this down. A plan can always change, but I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to be a little bit more communicative about the where the core team is seeing the project in the next 1-2 years and for what plans exist and what will not come anytime soon. I think most members of the community understand that this would not be a fixed feature list, but rather a plan on where the project is heading.

I agree with Jelo, that this would make it easier for others, either to get involved or to sponsor a feature which is not on the list or which would come "too late" (for them).

For example:
- As LS 2.0 with the complete rewrite was canceled and the real LS 2.0 was rather an improvement on the existing code base, all plans for a new interface were canceled as well back then. So I am wondering if there is any plans for the next releases.
- From time to time there are a few hints in the forum on what might come and this actually often looks quite promising, but then nothing can be found on the wiki.

I think to write this down and make a plan can hugely help. I understand that this would take a little bit of time, but it doesn't need to be anything perfect. Just a list on what is planned and the priorities, would be great for the rest of the team that is not involved in the core development and of course for the rest of the community.
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

I totally agree and will try to persuade our project manager to put something up in the wiki.

Thanks for the reminder. I have raised this topic at the last developer meeting but it seems developers prefer to create code rather then documentation (meaning that we didn't get very far).
I will give it another try at tomorrows developer meeting. Please send another reminder in 2-3 weeks to be sure something helpful will be created soon.

We do LS core code on our free time, and we do documentation too on our free time :).

Hmmm, while I can understand that coding might be more interesting or seem more important, I think one of Limesurvey's strengths that the documentation is relatively good for an open source application (as far as I see it).

I think it is never good when the developers are too far away from the users. I thought Limesurvey was relatively good at this a few years ago, but I get the impression that the gap between users and developers is getting greater lately.

Somehow the current LS development is a black box for normal users. For example, I don't really know where LS is going, what is planned for the next version, etc.

For example, I am currently looking into a reporting tool, that allows to create better reports that I can provide to others (I don't want them to login into my Limesurvey install and create their own reports, but rather create a report like a dashboard for them). However, I could put a lot of effort into this and then suddenly in LS 2.1 or 2.2 the reporting gets better and all the effort was in vain (I actually doubt that this is a priority, but just to give an example...).

I guess to have an organized development, something has to be written down anyway (goals, who does what, etc.), otherwise I imagine the development to be chaos.

I don't think that users expect much, but a little list of what is planned for the next versions would actually be great...

Hi Denis, I can understand that and I totally appreciate all the work and efforts.

As I am not a developer and my skills regarding PHP and Javascript are limited, so I try to help out in the forum where ever I can.

I know that you also do a great job in the forum. But I think it is important for the development team to stay "in touch" with the users, in terms of what is planned and what will come.

I don't think that making a quick list of what is planned and a little description on how and what would be a big deal, but would help users to see if Limesurvey is going in the direction they want. And I personally think it will also increase the possibility of sponsoring a feature (to get it quicker or to make it better than planned).

Of course no one will or can force the developers on writing those things down, I just think it would be highly benefitial for both sides.
