Preview for "Group Question Types"

6 years 2 months ago #53813 by parajulik
Hello all,
I am parajulik, a GCI participant. I have worked on some neat features like auto-translation using Google Translate, "Map" question type etc.. and I need some feedback from the community regarding my new task .

Currently, when you try to create a new question, you get a list of question types to choose from. It is not group and there are no previews, but it would be absolutely great and useful to have them. The groups will be based of the groups in the wiki page , but some groups like "Mask Questions" seem to be vague.

Where, in your opinion, should fields like Gender, Ranking, Boilerplate go under? Is there any alternate name for "Mask Questions"? Something maybe more descriptive. If you want to recommend completely different groups, feel free to.

Thanks :cheer:

To start the discussion here comes my suggestion on how to group question types:

1. Single Choice
2. Multiple Choice
3. Array
4. Text
5. "special question types" -> need to find a better wording, I'm thinking about all the "rest" like ranking, boilerplate, slider, gender, date, ...

So what do the market research experts think? Any suggestions?

I think it's a great idea, but still have some precision .
I think Array aren't a question type, for exemple

Array 5 point choice = Single choice questions (each line are a single choice)
Array text answer can be : Text, number, checkbox....

Array question aren(t an answer type, the important think for marketing is the answer type.
Open: text , numeric
single choice
multi choice

Someother remark:
1: i think Ranking are a multi answer question type, i'm true ?

I trye to make some organisation for the example survey :
