An example of where a unified export would be useful.

We set up a survey for a doctor's practice. They have to consult with patients more now as part of their funding rules in the UK. Most of the questions are multiple choice type, but at the end they want patients to be able to add any further comments about the services provided by the practice. The practice needs to show that they have collated and acted upon the answers given.

Currently, they need to export the statistics as a PDF to get the percentages of people who chose different answers. Then they need to switch to the export screen, choose the right long free text field from the list on the right (not straightforward as the system gives them all very long names like 93558X16X509F7) and export this as a seperate file.

It would be great if there was a 'smart export' function that gave stats where appropriate and free text answers in a list, all in one document.

I know this is an old topic, but it is still relevant!

I just installed Version 2.00+ Build 130428. When I go to the Statistics screen, and in General filters I click "Show text responses inline:" under Output Options, I get what I think I should get if I choose HTML or PDF - that is the statistics for the questions AND a list of the textual answers. However - If I choose Excel, the textual answers are NOT in the resulting Excel file.

So - How do I get the textual answers to a question to be included in the Excel export from the Statistics screen?

Please open a ticket at the bugtracker and...

  1. Give as much information as possible

  2. Attach your survey. You can mark your ticket "private" so that only the developers will be able to take a look at it.

  3. Provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the problem.

  4. If possible/helpful please provide screenshots

Afterwards please post the link to the bugtracker so we can follow the progress.

Thanks!
