Hmm, what do you mean with "easy way"? You could always go the results, mark the columns that contain your text answers and export them to CSV.

If this is not the solution to your problem, please describe it more in detail.
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

im using the version 1.90 and the text answers are not in the export. I can only see the Text answers in the Html Export, where is a Button to show them.

If i export in Excel or Pdf limesurvey dont export the text answers.

Hmm, I am using the latest version of 1.90 as well, and when marked all questions are exported. I just tested it. The text based questions are just another column in the table and import just fine to excel.

I installed a version on localhost

and made a test survey a test gruop and a test question (Long Free Text)

i activated the survey and made one answer.

then i exported the survey in excel my result:

Number of records in this query: 1
Total records in survey: 1
Percentage of total: 100.00%

Field summary for 1
Test
Answer 1 100.00%
No answer 0 0.00%
Not completed or Not displayed 0 0.00%

nowhere i can see what the user wrote in the text field

When I export the results those figures do not show up. Where is this export?

Here is what I do to export the survey results:
-> Browse responses for this survey
-> Export results to application
-> Then you have a screen with different export options. Pick CSV and mark the columns you want to export on the right.

Ohh, now I get it, you are in the statistics feature. Well, you can't really get statistics out of open ends, can you. This is probably why this is not included in the export of survey statistics.

yeah its not a statistic but i think its really helpful if you make a survey with text fields you want see what the people answered there... and in the html version you can see the output...

hmmm maybe a developer of limesurvey can give me a good hint how i can easy implement it.

its not easy to understand the complete excel process in the statistic_function.php

Well, I'd consider it is a nice to have, but I wouldn't consider this vital, because you can export those open-ended answers at the export. There are other functions that I'd consider a lot more urgent to be implemented.

So the statistics section is basically a quick and dirty statistical sum up of the survey, but when you want all the results including answers to open-ended questions you will have to go to the export of the data.
