How many here is interested in Finnish translation? I would like to discuss about some terms.

(Rest of the message in an exotic member of Uralic languages.)

Huomaan kääntäneeni järjestelmää tekemättä termipankkia. Onko 'plugin' parempi sanoa 'laajennos', 'laajennus' vai 'lisäosa'? Entä 'template', 'malli' vai 'kaavain'? Ja mitä muita termejä tulisi katsoa yhdessä?

Moi,

OK. Sinäkö kuitenkin olet hyväksynyt käännökseni? Systeemissä näyttää suomelle olevan kaksi hyväksyjää.

"Arviot" vai "arvioinnit"? Nykyisessä käännöksessä 'assesments'-termille on noita sekaisin.

Why my correction "oaluuviesteille" -> "paluuviesteille" has not been accepted?

Maybe ask limesurvey to get the rights to approve finnish translations yourself

I did that. Can prime translator both make a translation and accept it? (To compare, in SageMath all code is written by one and reviewed by other.)

I agree, ideally of course we would have a [strike]2[/strike] 4+ eyes system. BUT, if there are not enough people to do so, I think it is better to have the translation and correct it later if necessary, rather than not having it at all, because there is no second person that can approve these translation.

So go ahead and ask for getting approval. On the other hand, I see that there are two members (jeskiv, morbid) considered to be responsible for approving ( translate.limesurvey.org/projects/limesurvey-4/ ).

However, I can see that jeskiv is still here. So maybe the ideal would be one approves the other's translations, in case jeskiv considers him/herself still active...

Last edit: 3 years 10 months ago by holch. Reason: Of course we want ideally 4 eyes, 2 eyes would mean only one is looking at it. ;-)

I got the principal translator status. And -- hooray! -- now everything in LS4 is translated to Finnish.

(Need polishing and I'm sure some strings have clear errors, but still quite satisfied feeling now.)

Great! But this now reminds me that there is still a lot to do for the Brazilian Portuguese version. Not looking forward to that... ;-)
