Non-anonymous only applies when tokens are used.
Token VS non-token:
Only respondents with a token can participate.
manual.limesurvey.org/Tokens#Introduction
Anonymous VS non-anonymous:
When tokens are used, if set to "anonymous", there is no connection between the token table and the data. No token information can be exported with the data
manual.limesurvey.org/Tokens#Can_a_surve...onymous_responses.3F
Open mode VS close mode survey
This typically refers to whether tokens are used or not.
Another possible reference may be to when tokens are used, whether public registration is allowed.
