Hello,

I just sent my survey out and some recipients are reporting that when they arrive at a ranking question, the choices are all jumbled on their screen and they can not continue.

Is there anything that I can do? ~1/10 people so far have stopped their progress at the ranking questions

Is the ranking question type not compatible with certain browsers/browser versions?

Thanks!

Do you know if this issue happens most in a certain browser?

and what version of LimeSurvey are you using?

I don't know what browsers they were using or the versions. One reported they had the problem in an old computer using IE.

I'm using limesurvey Version 2.00+ Build 130219

Now it seems like 1/8 of the surveys started are incomplete and all of those incomplete have stopped at the ranking question. Unfortunately the population I'm sending the surveys to do not have the most up-to-date computers. Is there anything I can do? I will be sending a follow-up remind for the survey in a week, perhaps I can add something there.

I haven't ever seen this happen in our user base..ill see if i can find anyone reporting this

one thing i can think of off hand is it may be a browser issue so you could have them attempt in a different browser such as chrome or Firefox

Thanks I will suggest that.
I have a feeling the ranking graphics probably overwhelmed the older computers/browsers. It's not unlikely many of my recipients are still using windows 2000!

Please :

1: Use default template or cotronade template to test
2: A link to be tested
3: A lsq file with your question

I made test on IE6/7/8 and other modern browser ...

Dennis was mentioning the default template, because often problems with layout derive from custom templates, so if the problem doesn't appear in the default template, the problem lies within the custom template.

Hi

You're right, there are a problem with default template here ... Made an error ...

But think you don't have last version (last version is better) and can not update ;).

Please add this at end of your template.css file:
.ranking-answers{width:100%;}
.dragDropTable .columns2{width:50%;float:left;margin:0;padding:0;
*width:49%;/* IE7 round up, all other round down */
}
.dragDropTable ul.dragDropChoiceList li,
.dragDropTable ol.dragDropRankList li {
	*height:1.3em;
}

Last file is here:
github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/blob/8a...s-public/ranking.css

Sorry, let me just make sure.

What I need to do is open template editor, select the template for my survey (copy of eirenicon) -> go to template.css for the 'Question Page' -> Scroll to the end of the text box and copy/paste
Is that all?

I'm not sure what to do with the code on
github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/blob/8a...s-public/ranking.css

There are 2 fix needed for defaulkt template (at your version of LS).
This fix are in css file style-public/ranking.css : if you replace this file by the new one in your version then it's fixed fo whole template (not only one).

You have to have a FTP access to the webserver.
