Hi there,

I tried looking through the forum/manual to see if there was an answer to this question, but nothing quite seemed to be what I was after.

Okay, so I have the first portion of my survey set up exactly how I want it. Every group I have has one question (e.g., Which offer do you prefer? A1: $500 today, or, A2: $1,000 in 7 days). Depending on which answer is chosen then the person will be lead to another group and its corresponding question (e.g., Which offer do you prefer? A1: $750 today, or, A2: $1,000 in 7 days). This continues until the person makes 6 choices.

Once the person has complete this set of questions, I want them to answer a new set which is exactly the same except for the "$1,000 in 7 days" will be changed to 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, and then 365 days. Therefore, I am trying to find a way to copy my first set of question groups/questions/and conditions so I can simply change the text instead of starting over for the different days. And I want all of this to be in the same survey. Any advice?

Thank you for your time!

PS: I've attached a copy of my survey if the above explanation was too confusing.

You can do that easily using the Excel Survey Structure import/export feature .

I unfortunately only have version 1.92+ and do not have access to the server to install version 2.0.

You can export the question group and edit the exported XML file using a raw text editor. If you don't break the structure, you should be able to import that file.

That's the thing, each question has its own question group so I would have to export and import each question/group individually, which is more work than creating new questions by hand. I am doing it all by hand now, seeing if it is possible to update to version 2

I think then there is no other way than doing it all manually.

You could also export the question group (lsg) and edit it in textedit or bbedit. There you can use "find and replace" to change the naes of variables and the name of the questions, etc. If you do so, it is easier to hava sequencial variable names (e.g opt01, opt02, opt03) so with "find and replace" the edition becomes faster . I had a similar case and I did it first manually and after using find-and-replace, the results from 2-3 days to couple of hours.... hope it helps....
