Left aligning group description

Hello all :)

I've just started using Limesurvey and I must say it's brilliant. I will donate once I've got it all up and running!

I have a quick question for anyone that can help. How can I left align the 'group description' text so that it is in line with the questions? I've played around with the CSS all afternoon and just can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Please see the attached screenshot for what I intend to do. Surely it can't be that difficult?

All help is gratefully appreciated!

Cheers,

Gary

1. Please activate a small sample survey and post the link so we can have a look at the HTML source.

2. Which template do you use?

I also would love to see the answer to this, I spent ages last week trying to get the group description left aligned for the Citronade template. In the template.css file i changed the text in lines 596 and 597 to "left align", but it doesn't seem to "stick", even across different browsers/machines. Is there something else that should be changed?

Sorry to piggy back on your question Gary, hopefully there's an easy solution to this...

Thank you Mazi. Here is the link to a test survey, using a copy of the citronade template. As before, only lines 596 and 597 have been edited.

It looks fine here using Firefox 11. The group title is left aligned:

Maybe you just forgot to clear the browser cache so the old CSS styles were loaded from cache?!

kev23f: Good to know it isn't just me! I'm using a version of the default template so lines 596&597 don't correspond with my CSS file. Could you tell me which class you were left aligning? For what it's worth, your sample survey seems to have a left aligned description my end, so it seems to have worked! (see screenshot)

Mazi: I will attempt to release a sample version now, and post it up. Bear with me!

Thanks. No matter how often i clear the cache (either manually, or using CCleaner), and no matter how often i restart firefox11 or reboot the pc, firefox still shows the question as centred. However when i load the survey link up with chrome or IE9 the question is properly aligned, so I guess this issue is solved for me. (sorry again for hijacking your question Gary.)

For the record, the lines i changed are all that needs to be edited, is that correct??

No problem, glad we seem to be resolving this! What was the specific contents of the lines you edited, kev?

Edit: sorry guys, can't work out how to release a sample version! How do I do this?

these are the lines from Citronade, template.css that i changed.

line596: table.question thead th{text-align:left;vertical-align:middle}
line597: table.question tbody td{text-align:left;vertical-align:middle}

The word "left" was previously "center", that's all i changed.

To release a sample version just Activate your survey (or a copy of it) for now, then you'll get the URL of the survey.

Hmm, no luck with those lines for me. Here's the survey:

actbook.limeask.com/91521/lang-en

It's specifically the group description I'm looking to left align (the '1. Information about you' section)

Okay guys, I resolved my issues!

It was mainly working out how the group table and group description classes worked. All sorted now.

Thanks to both of you for the help :-)
