Hi,

So now I'm wondering if any of you have used Surveypress? Are there any limitations of using Surveypress(Wordpress + Limesurvey). Since we use Wordpress as our official website that might be a smooth solution or what do you think?

Do you have any insight?

yours truly
Adam

From what I understand, you sill need to set up your own limesurvey installation. The plugin is only a connection between Wordpress and Limesurvey ( wordpress.org/extend/plugins/surveypress/other_notes/ ):

1. Setup WordPress and LimeSurvey (1.9x version!).
2. Apply this plugin.

If using that plugin fits your needspretty much depends on what you plan to use Limesurvey for and how you want to connect it to Wordpress. Maybe you can explain that in more detail?

I'm not actually sure what I would use Surveypress, initially I thought it would make installing limesurvey more seamless.

What I want is to "host" (not sure host is the right term) the surveys on our wordpress site so we could go live right away if the board accepts my proposal to try it out.

Are there any downsides of having the survey on our website, is there a chance the site would "crack" or are there maybe downsides regarding google pageranking?

Sinceraly
Adam

Hello,

like Mazi said it depends on your needs or let's say what you want to do. If you plan to let your users create own surveys and match the Wordpress and LimeSurvey users in terms of their rights/permissions or you want users to take part in your survey Surveypress might be worth a try. If you have just a few people creating surveys/administrating LimeSurvey and want to integrate the surveys into a blog post you can (in my opinion) do it without Surveypress.

In general Limesurvey is a stand alone application. If you want to offer surveys to your users, you might want to think about using Limesurvey in an iframe. It might be useful to create an optimized template for such cases. One example of an iFrame template I created for a customer if mine can be found at www.innsbruck-informiert.at/ (right side, "Was sagst du?").
