I'm trying to set up a few questions where users answer the time

For example

At what time do you usually wake up?

Normally with basic form outside LimeSurvey I'd use dropdowns,

Hour | Mins | AM/PM dropdown

I understand that these constitutes 3 questions and the result when exported is confusing.

Right now I'm using numeric type, and the user will have to use 24hrs format.

Can anyone suggest the best way to do this?

I would use a short-text question and either validate the input with a regular expression or place a mask on the input. There are a couple of workarounds for masks here - docs.limesurvey.org/Workarounds%3A+Manip...tions+for+LimeSurvey.
