Scroll bars on survey results.

Hi,

When looking at survey results we find the only horizontal scroll bar is it the bottom of the page. This is a problem when wanting to look at a record near the top of the results that is wider than the screen because you cannot see it.

Is this a config issue?

Thanks for any advice.

I assume that you are using 'Responses and statistics' -> 'Display Responses' page, am I right?

Try using 'Records displayed:' and 'Starting from:' fields to filter answers. If the survey has many questions and lot of long text answers it should help. Exporting results to ie. spreadsheet format may also be handy - then you will be able to hide unnecessary columns/questions.

Thanks for the quick reply. Its mainly when there are too many columns. The Uploaded file we want to see is off the screen. At the moment we have to scroll down to the bottom of the result, reach the horizontal scroll bar and then scroll back up. The more results we have the more its a problem.

Thanks.

What version are you using? In the latest stable release the rows in the response view screen have been fixed to allow viewing of more rows.

I don't understand why you can't see the scrollbar. Isn't that part of the browser, not the survey interface? Can you provide a screenshot?

Cheers,

Hi,

I can't upload the screens because of confidentiality.

It is the same in Firefox, Chrome and Safari. If the columns go beyond the right hand side of the screen there is no scroll bar at the bottom of the window to move along.

If you scroll to the bottom of the records there is a scroll bar.

Thanks for any thoughts.

You can wipe or blur any sensitive data using image editor, then upload. It will be much easier to see where is the problem - remember: a picture is worth a thousand words ;-)

Hi,

We are using 1.91. I have enclosed an example of Firefox on a Mac. It is the same in all other browsers (Safari, Chrome).

Maybe its because we are using it for Arabic. We seem to be pushing the functionality with the Arabic language.

Thanks,

Geoff

Maybe it could works, just setting your admin stylesheet(s) overflow properties ?
limesurvey/styles/default/adminstyle.css (limesurvey/styles/default/adminstyle-rtl.css)
html, body {overflow:scroll !important}
