Drop down lists

Hello again,

Got a problem with a dropdown list. The last option is 'No answer' which I did not put in and can't find how to remove?

Also the text for this type of question - 'Choose one of the following answers', how do I edit / delete it?

Many thanks,

Rob

If you want to get rid of 'No answer' option make the question mandatory.

If you want to get rid of 'Choose one of the following answers' text at the beginning of the list choose one option as a default value (but then answers may be biased)

hmmm . . . I've got rid of the 'No answer' option, thanks.

I have made one answer the default answer, but still have the 'Choose one of the following answers' text showing?

Hmmm..

Here is what I did:
1. Created new question, type 'List(dropdown)' and made it mandatory.
2. Added 2 option answers (option1, option2)
3. Made option1 default answer for this question.

Then I can see only two options in dropdown, with option1 initially selected. What limesurvey version do you use?
I did the test on 1.91+ Build 10168 which is published by LimeSurvey team here: Demo.limesurvey.org/admin/admin.php

Re done the question as per your instructions and I still have the text 'Choose one of the following answers', as does your example survey, unless I am looking at the wrong survey, you did not say which survey your example was on?

Using Version 1.91+ Build 10202

I've just created survey named 'Choose one of the following' with only one question. Take a look before it will be deleted.

Hi robshim,

I've attached exported survey with one dropdown list question. Import it and see if it's ok.

The last option is 'No answer' which I did not put in and can't find how to remove?

There is a survey setting for this in "Presentation & navigation":

Also the text for this type of question - 'Choose one of the following answers', how do I edit / delete it?

There is an advanced setting to hide the tip:

sorry Greg, I can't see a survey named 'Choose one of the following'. Is this the URL - Demo.limesurvey.org/admin/admin.php ?

The url is ok, but this is Demo installation and all data is regularly deleted. I also attached exported survey to my post www.limesurvey.org/forum/design-issues/6...-lists?lang=en#62065 so you can import it to any Limesurvey instance and test

Thanks guys, that's all sorted now.

Incidentally if someone else asks you how to change the default layout of a survey, this is the CSS I used:

/*Name*/
#question1
{
float:left;
width:500px;
position:absolute;
left:40px;
}
/*Ext*/
#question2
{
width:200px;
position:absolute;
left:500px;
}
/*Bleep*/
#question5
{
width:200px;
position:absolute;
left:700px;
}
/* CONTACT DETAILS ROW 2 */
/*Dept*/
#question6
{
float:left;
width:180px;
position:absolute;
top:250px;left:75px;
}
/*Cost*/
#question7
{
width:180px;
position:absolute;
top:250px;left:400px;
}
/*Email*/
#question9
{
width:180px;
position:absolute;
top:250px;left:600px;
}
