I'm having issues with the close window button working consistently.

I got it to work once in firefox, but only if I had other tabs open, and I wasn't able to repeat this behavior. Does anyone else have issues with the close window button at the end of a survey?

What close window button?

What template are you using?

I'm using clear logo.

The close window button appears after you hit submit, and you see the end message.

Can you post a link to a short sample survey which can be used to reproduce the problem?

It looks like maybe it works if I have multiple tabs open?

Does it not work if it is the only tab in a browser?

Which Limesurvey version do you use? If not the latest 1.90 version please update.

Please open a ticket at the Bugtracker and...

1. Give as much information as possible

2. Attach your survey. You can mark your ticket "private" so that only the developers will be able to take a look at it.

3. Provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the problem.

4. If possible/helpful please provide screenshots

Afterwards please post the link to the Bugtracker so we can follow the progress.

Thanks!

I don't think this is a bug. You cannot force the closing of a browser, only the closing of a window or tab. Therefor if there is only one window open the button can't do anything.

If you don't like the behaviour you could modify the button to redirect to another page/site or use the end URL to do the same thing.

I have also read about this. If I remember correctly you can only use Javascript to close windows that have previously been opened using Javascript?!

I believe you can close any window unless there is only one open because this would mean closing the browser which you can't do.
