Problem with number of responses

I encountered a problem with a survey I am running with Limesurvey (ver.1.90+ Build 9071) regarding the number of responses to the survey. According to Limsurvey, over 1000 people have completed the survey. However, when I attempted to browse the statistics for the survey, the program showed that 758 people had taken the survey (600 completed and 158 partial completions). This same number (758 responses) is found when importing the data into SPSS and in the SQL database table for the data.

What gives?

I've never encountered this problem before with any other survey I have run with Limesurvey.

Any help is appreciated.

"According to Limsurvey, over 1000 people have completed the survey" -> where is that data displayed?

That information is from the survey's token table, which says over 1000 people have completed the survey.

Did you enable token based answer persistance?

What happens when exporting the data? Do you find 1000 or 600 completed data sets then?

Token based persistance is not enabled.

When I exported the data,758 cases are displayed - 600 completed and 158 partial responses.

Please test if the problem still exists at the latest release . If so please open a ticket at the Bugtracker and...

1. Give as much information as possible

2. Attach your survey. You can mark your ticket "private" so that only the developers will be able to take a look at it.

3. Provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the problem.

4. If possible/helpful please provide screenshots

Afterwards please post the link to the Bugtracker so we can follow the progress.

Thanks!

When trying to update to the latest version, I encountered this message Fatal error: Cannot redeclare db_rename_table() (previously declared in C:\xampp\htdocs\limesurvey\common.php:7584) in C:\xampp\htdocs\limesurvey\admin\database.php on line 40

Did I do something wrong?

I checked line 40 and couldn't see anything wrong. I am going to try and revert back to the old installation.

How do I mark this as 'private'?

You can only mark tickets at the Bugtracker as "private", there is a setting for this when reporting bugs.

About the update error: I have never seen that error before, please try to run the update again and if it still fails, open a ticket at our Bugtracker.

Hello,

The update worked the second time and I think I figured out the problem. There were a lot of duplicate tokens issued to survey participants which caused them to be counted twice in the token management portion of the software, but obviously not the data set.

Thanks.

That definately explains the different numbers. Thanks for clarifying.
