Require Registration Form - how to? was created by isaacgossage
Hi all
Version: 3.15.1
I'm really struggling to work out how to enable the registration form feature in Lime Survey, and searching the forum hasn't yielded a straight answer.
There doesn't seem to be a straight-forward "Require registration" option in the survey settings.
I've experimented with various options, and at one point, I accidentally managed to enable registration, so I made a note of those settings, but upon creating the "real" survey, applying the same settings does not cause the registration form to appear.
The settings that I'm currently using:
It feels like there should be a straightforward: "Require registration before survey - on/off" option, but it seems that there is a magic combination of the other settings to achieve this, which after days of testing, I still haven't discovered.
Many thanks,
Isaac

The settings that I'm currently using:
- Participant Settings ->
- Enable token-based response persistence - off
- Allow multiple responses or update responses with one token -> on
- Allow public registration -> on
- Use HTML format for token emails -> on
- Send confirmation emails -> on
- Notification & Data ->
- Enable assessment mode -> off
- Participant may save and resume later - off
Publication & access ->- List survey publicly -> on
- Set cookie to prevent repeated participation -> off
- Use CAPTCHA for survey access -> off
- Use CAPTCHA for registration -> on
- Use CAPTCHA for save and load -> off
It feels like there should be a straightforward: "Require registration before survey - on/off" option, but it seems that there is a magic combination of the other settings to achieve this, which after days of testing, I still haven't discovered.
Many thanks,
Isaac

If there are a participant table : token code are required, and then you can allow 'register' or not.

Ah, I see!
I hadn't realised that the "Initialise participants table" part of survey activation was necessary, regardless of whether the survey was invitation-only, or self-registration.
I had assumed that it was only for invitation-only situations.
Many thanks for your help Denis
