How to set up blacklist properties

Hi folks,
I'm new on this forum and I 've a question I didn't find the answer in this forum and on google.

What I want to do :
Sync contacts from another database with the central particicant database and disable the participant in limesurvey when I disable it in the other database

Methods I thinked about :
- create/update the participants by a script in the limesurvey database
- set "blacklisted" to yes in limesurvey participants table bu a script when I disable it into the ohter database.

I'll be able to create the dedicated script to create a participant_id with the gen_uuid() function and create/update the user firstname, lastname and other stuff into the participants database, but....

When testing the blacklist control settings I'm confused.
  • If I set "Don't show blacklisted participants" to "YES" there is no effect on the displayed participants list.
  • Same problem if I set "Don't allow blacklisted participants to be added to new survey" to "YES", blacklisted participants can still be added to a survey

Is this a bug, I didn't find any info on this ?

Fore sure,

I made my test with the XAMP-Lime release available here : www.limesurvey.org/en/stable-release

So infos are
- MySql Database
- Limesurvey 2.05-build 150502

Just checked, same problem in LimeService (now LimeSurvey Professional).com
Limesurvey is also 2.05 (built unknown)

Did you take a look at the database tables?

What is the blacklisted_global value in the lime_participants table?

Currently it looks like a bug.

I just had a look :

Created 3 participants, one of them blacklisted at creation
Insertion is correct in database

then made change to set blacklisted from "NO" to "YES" for one participant, change is ok in database

Then I change the blacklist setting control
1) set not to show blacklisted participants -> change OK in database, but still display blacklisted participants
2) then set not to had blacklisted participants to survey -> still add blacklisted participants to survey tokens



All this test where first made with user #1 (superadmin) then with a other user with no "superadmin" permissions.
I had the same results.

I agree, this seems to bee a bug.
Where to declare it ?

Hello, I tried to add the bug but no way to do it.

Despite log in with my forum login/pw it says I'm a "viewer" I did find a way to change it.
Can any body report the bug for me ?

Just post what I should add to the Bugtracker. Problem is, if the developers ask back you're not the poster. So you might go to the Bugtracker and login again.

Try this link: bugs.limesurvey.org/login_page.php and use your accountdata from the board.

I just tried again,

I don't see any " add a bug" button.


I think it's a permission parameter.
Looking in my account settings I can't change my acces level which currently is "viewer"

How can I report the bug then ?

Right on the top switch the dropdown menu Project: to Bug reports.

On the menu across the top you will find a link called "Report Issue"

Direct Link is:
bugs.limesurvey.org/bug_report_page.php

There might be problems with syncing the account accross the different applications here.
I remember that I couldn't login on some occasions.

I would logout from the mainpage/limesurvey / clear cookies and try to login directly via the Bugtracker. If that isn't working we need to ask for help from an admin.
