Hello, is it possible to do a dual answer for one question? i am trying to make survey that will have 400 words(each word is a separate question) , for each word i need 2 types of answers, first user have to choose his feeling about the word for example:

Word Plain:

What do you feel when hearing this word?

(answer) - Fear | Depression | Both | Nothing

after choosing one of this answers there is another answer type that will be a 5 point array, so the user will choose how much he feels Fear or depression from 1 to 5 points when 5 points is the strongest feeling.

Please replay me if someone didnt understand what i mean.

Thanks, and hope for help.

Hi Nortex,

could you please give me some more examples? As described it looks like a dual-scale thing, if the options for the first part of the questions are the same for all or many words.

Like
FearDepressionBothNothing12345
Word 'Plain'ooooooooo
Word 'Vampires'ooooooooo
Word 'Christine'ooooooooo
Word 'Fog'ooooooooo

I would like it to look like this:

Please choose your feeling and give points to the power of that feeling from 1 to 5:

Word 'Love' - Fear o | Depression o | Both o | nothing o|

(if user chooses fear or depression or both then another bar of 5 point array will be showen) like this:

choose how strong is this feeling:

1 2 3 4 5
o o o o o

if user choose nothing then the 5 points bar are NOT showing up or not letting to check it.

Any suggestions? ah, and how do i make more than two scales in dual scale question type?

Thanks again for replay!

Hi,

I'm not sure If I catch your design idea, but either you have to use to consecutive questions and hide the particular second question by using EM if there is no match in the respective first or you will have to use dual scale questions hiding the second scale (answer options per table-line) if there is no match in the first scale. May be this second version is possible, because evey dual-scale cell has it's own css id, never tried ist before.

Unfortunately there is no way to use a triple-scale question type (as far as Iknow)

If I understand this in the right way, you could combine two questions with jquery into "one question", to have the look and feel of one question. There is an example in the workaround section.

Cheers Kai
