We are having an event and would like to offer a limited menu. This is our first time using LimeSurvey and we're still trying to wrap our heads around it. We expect that the person filling out the form will be ordering either for themselves or for a party.

Our menu consists of 3 entrees choices. Each entree has one choice of 10 salsas.

We would like to know how many of each entree and what salsa they have chosen for each entree.

Thank you.
Michelle

Sorry, I don't understand the question. Are you looking for the best question types to be used?

Mazi,
It looks like this be in the wrong category and instead the one where we need help designing our survey.

I'm sorry we were vague with the first post. At this point we have come up with this using the "Multiple Numerical Input" question type like this:

Question 1:
How many of Entree 1
Entree 1 with Salsa 1 [field for a integer below 100, greater than 0]
Entree 1 with Salsa 2 [""]
...
Entree 1 with salsa 10 [""]

Question 2:
Entree 2 with Salsa 1 [""]
Entree 2 with Salsa 2 [""]
...
Entree 2 with Salsa 10 [""]

etc.

This seems a little inelegant and we wonder if there is a better approach. Please feel free to move this post to the other forum.

Again, thank you.
Andy

If you want the user to enter the aggregated numbers, the above approach seems correct to me. Maybe a text array with number input would do the trick as well: docs.limesurvey.org/Question+type+-+Arra...tions+for+LimeSurvey

and then use docs.limesurvey.org/Question+type+-+Arra...rvey#Show_totals_for and docs.limesurvey.org/Question+type+-+Arra...eSurvey#Numbers_only

I just created a sample question and uploaded a screenshot: docs.limesurvey.org/img/wiki_up/array_text_numbers_totals.PNG
