problem exporting survey data to SPSS 17

hello,

I'm trying to export survey data to SPSS but when I try to choose "run=>all" in the syntax using either method mentioned in the manual (with & without changing the file's path name) I get the same error message:

"text value unmappable in the current server locale"

I've tried saving the exported data+syntax files directly in c:\, in different directories and on the computer's desktop, and I still get the same message.

What am doing wrong? I'm currently working with SPSS 17 and chose the 16&up version when exporting.

Thanks!

Thanks - I did that, but it is only part of the solution in my case. I set for over an hour with the support staff at the university and my SPSS is still selective in its file reading... we changed a few more things in the software definitions and in the end accepted the fact that I can save files in some directories and in some not (like directly on c:\ - it still won't read files from there!).
The good news is that I managed to export the survey file and all is working well.

k, so to sum this up: This is not a Limesurvey issue but a rights issue at the PC/SPSS you are using?

I think I can safely say it is NOT a Limesurvey issue but a very specific SPSS quirk
(I haven't encountered this problem with SPSS before, nor has the person at the university help desk - but she had a whole file of SPSS & SAS problems students encountered & their suggested solutions)
