Hello,

No, you can use 2 question for this.

If you want to have a text field only and no checkbox with it, than that is not possible. Only solution would be to use conditions.
Another alternative is the "other" option which includes a text field. You can also replace the "other" text with another string like "comment:".

You can use specific css to put the 2nd question near the 1st question.

The easiest way, is to remove all separation between the 2 question ( margin ). But you can do more and put the second at right of the first.
( see float:left;width:50% for example ).

You can use specific css to put the 2nd question near the 1st question.

Or a little jQuery magic to hide the second question and move the text input into the first...

;)

ok, sounds good, but I think I will go for the simple solution and just tell the user that he has to use to questions.

Not supporting a mixture of question types is something Limesurvey really lacks. We hope to be able to better deal with it in the future, some basics like a "Database Storage Engine" were already implemented at the 2.0 alpha version but it is a long way until this will be possibe.

As I said, this is not a big deal.

In my opinion it is better to handle that specific problem with two questions. So you don't have to try hard to get the data analysed later. With two questions it is much easier (in my opinion)

thanks
