TOPIC: On Resume Questionnaire I get token error

On Resume Questionnaire I get token error 4 years 10 months ago #66998

I'm on V1.91+Build 10951 and have enabled token-base persistence, no public registration as members are passed on from another system and I'd like to provide them with the option of resuming later, but get the following error when selecting 'Resume'

Table 'LifestyleV1.v1_tokens_66776' doesn't exist:SELECT * from v1_tokens_66776 WHERE token='';

Thanks

1. Is the survey already active?

2. Did you set up and populate a token table for survey #66776?

3. Is the survey set to be non anonymous?

You have to create a token table.

Doesn't that prompt me for a token when I start the survey?

I looking for doing this without being prompted for a token.

Thanks

Well, you can't have a token based survey without token.

What you can do is pass on the token with the URL, this should provide the need for registration.
Have a look at the manual! It is a really valuable source for information. Here some helpful links:

Thought as much, but given that the users are invited via another website and then get redirected to the survey (after they logged into the members area on the other site) and are then redirected to the survey site passing arguments (like member id, DOB) in the URL.

My limited understanding on tokens is that they cannot be auto generated when a person starts the survey, which is really all we need.

Just a quick clarification.

All I need is the capability to save/resume a survey.

Did you check this survey setting:
"Participant may save and resume later?: This setting allows a participant to save his responses and resume to answer the survey at a later time. Please note that this makes most sense with open surveys or surveys with anonymized answer. If you are using tokens and the survey is not anonymous in most cases it is better to activate 'Token-based response persistence' in the token tab."

Thanks, I've seen this and its a great feature and it works (I guess at least as long as you stay on the same PC).

Problem is that there is no way of letting a user know that this is happening; this is where the 'Resume" button was handy.

Thanks

This works from all PCs because the can re-join the survey using username/PW login which they should have received by email

Define "this". Doesn't the save and return button do the trick?

Maybe I'm missing something.

I have a survey with the following settings:

1) No Welcome screen
2) Not CAPTCHA
3) Enable token-based response persistence
4) No public registration
5) Survey is NOT anonymous

When I had 'Participant may save and resume later' enabled I got the error I reported initially

Participants enter the Survey after they login into another site and I then pass some of their details as answers via the URL (all works as expected).

I currently have 'Participant may save and resume later' disabled, which allows the resumption of the survey, so if somebody closes their browser in the middle of the survey and then log back into original site and choose to enter the survey 9again) they end up where they were before they closed their browser (also works as expected and is a great feature).

All I'm saying is that there doesn't seem to be any indication (to the person filling out the survey) that this is going to happen.

Thanks,

If that is the "problem" I think all is well?!

You can simply add some help text at the survey to tell your users that they could leave the survey and then return later to complete it.
