Compiled Version for somebody else's server

Sorry if it is dead obvious but ....

I have written a questionnaire using Limesurvey which works well but is hosted on iPage which sometimes works for me rather slowly.

Can I somehow create a 'compiled' version that will run on my employer's website (a large hospital) which is resistant to loading LimeSurvey on its own server?

I want to survey 5000 people about cycling to work and I am afraid that using iPage will crash under such high demand.

Well, if your employer is resistant to load limesurvey on their server, they will be even more resistant to put a "compiled" version o their website... (besides that there can't be a compiled version, as it is written in PHP and requires a webserver with php and mysql support to run - Limesurvey is a server software).

Only chance I see is getting a reasonable host or use www.LimeService.com/ .

thanks for the quick reply. You are great for helping like this.

If they can run PHP and have mysql where will I find the PHP version of my questionnaire ?

I presume that when I write a survey it is stored somewhere, but even when I search my whole server I cannot find it.

I know that I can export it for import elsewhere where there is LImeSurvey, but is it also stored somewhere as an original PHP file?

So what file extension should I search for

Thanks again for your help

No. There is no "survey" file stored for each survey. The surveys are stored in the database. PHP wouldn't work like this anyway.

For the survey to run you need the full limesurvey installation in a server environment. Always.

I also recommend to use www.LimeService.com if performance is important. It is a special, Limesurvey optimized hosting and you can easily import your survey there. Also database backups are created regularly.

And now , you can use your own domainname :).

It's transparent for consumer :)

@Shnoulle: Own domain? That sounds interesting. But it works only with a complete domain, I guess. It wouldn't work for a subdomain, right? Like surveys.mydomain.com , right?

Sure, it works also with a subdomain, any FQDN.
