Can i export conditions in a human-legible way

I have a quite complex survey, and i would like to send to the client a printable form for approval.

So far i have chosen to see the "printable version" and export it to PDF.

The questions are rendered nicely, for the most part, but conditions are mostly ilegible/incorrect. It could be a translation issue, don't know yet.

Anyway, is there an alternative way to export survey logic in a printable form? Something you could send others to verify or maybe keep for record?

Unfortunately, I don't think so.

LimeSurvey 1.92 will let you do this.

The whole conditions process is being re-designed to use human-readable equations. You can find some details here .

So far i have chosen to see the "printable version" and export it to PDF.

In special need you can edit your printable version before the export as PDF:
As a basic html document save it first as web page with all the related files (using Firefox or Chrome) and edit the html ... Your client may appreciate your extra work

@TMSWhite Thanks for leting me know. I think that improving the way survey logic works would be a great addition to limesurvey.

@ Benitov Sadly, I use unicode non-ascii characters that get exported poorly if i save the html locally to have a stable file. It is not impossible to do it, but it is a pain - it is actually so bad that i am trying to edit the PDF files instead :(. Thanks for the thought

I hit the same wall again but this time I figured out how to export a clean editable questionnaire with minimum effort.

Please find the link here

docs.limesurvey.org/!How+to+export+a+cle...ctly+from+Limesurvey

I inadvertedly put a "!" before the title so someone at LS may need to change the title and maybe the link. Hopefully it will remain pretty similar

Hello,

I don't understand why you don't use OOOwriter to edit the html AND to export in PDF.

And you put cutePDF or Bullzip, you don't need another thing of OOwriter or pdfcreator. All 2 are free software and OOwritre ( or LOwriter) can be used on another computer system than MS windowe (r).

Simply put OO crushed repeatedly when exporting the quire. This is better than Word (which did not open it at all), but not good enough.

Also the workaround adresses a larger issue, namely having an *editable* questionnaire to send over to others. I know that nowadays it is quite easy to annotate a PDF, but many still feel uncomfortable. So actually we have 3 situations:

- neither I nor my partner/client need to edit anything. I believe that a PDF printer is the simplest way here as it will work directly from the browser

- I need to edit the document but i want to send it as uneditable to my client/partner. Here what you say makes total sense, except that LibreOffice rather bthan OO worked for me.

- everybody needs to edit the document. Then a .doc export seems to be the best solution, as most people still use Word and. Note that you do not atually need to have Ms Word or Bullzip printer or anything to do this.

Let me know if you feel I have been less than clear when writing the workaround.

Thanks for providing your solution. It's not the best approach to create a new wiki page for such solutions. Please add it at docs.limesurvey.org/Workarounds&structur...r+LimeSurvey&no_bl=y instead.

Thanks!

Agreed. This said, can you please advise what kind of wiki you are using and where I can find documentation about creating a subsection within a page etc?

While I was comfortable with creating a page from scratch in the Sandbox, i am a bit "shy" to mess-up with the work others have already done.

We are using tiki-wiki. You can add your solution at the end of this page by editing it: docs.limesurvey.org/tiki-index.php?page=...tions+for+LimeSurvey

You can't do much wrong, there will be a backup of each revision. It should be possible to simply copy-paste the whole text from that other page.

Thanks for your feedback. Please copy-paste the above workaround ( docs.limesurvey.org/!How+to+export+a+cle...ctly+from+Limesurvey ) to docs.limesurvey.org/Workarounds%3A+Furth...tions+for+LimeSurvey where we collect such solutions.

Thanks!
