Scanning Paper surveys and importing into LimeSurvey

Can you do this?

Would like to create both online and paper surveys. We need to be able to scan and import the paper surveys into LimeSurvey. Is this possible and if so where can I find documentation?

Thanks!

Thanks that looks promising.

Here are some of our requirements I was wondering if LimeSurvey meets these and also if there are any recommended scanners to use for paper surveys.

--ease of use for survey development
--ability to pre-code some responses or information into a survey
-- minimum of 2 users
-- ratings and open-response questions are downloaded, connected to case4
--scanner autofeed that can efficiently handle 250 sheets (minimum of 1500/hour)

Strongly preferred specs would include:

--coordinated online and paper survey development and data management for
--multiple users would be able to design surveys
--ability to create surveys in WORD or other software if needed.
--various options for open-response questions (OCR)

--ease of use for survey development
-> YES

--ability to pre-code some responses or information into a survey
-> You can set default answers or also populate questions by passing data by URL

-- minimum of 2 users
-> YES

-- ratings and open-response questions are downloaded, connected to case4
--scanner autofeed that can efficiently handle 250 sheets (minimum of 1500/hour)
-> I have never worked with paper based surveys, you'd have to test

Strongly preferred specs would include:

--coordinated online and paper survey development and data management for
-> YES

--multiple users would be able to design surveys
-> YES; have a look at docs.limesurvey.org/Manage+users&structu...tions+for+LimeSurvey and docs.limesurvey.org/Survey+security+sett...tions+for+LimeSurvey

--ability to create surveys in WORD or other software if needed.
-> You can't import Word files into Limesurvey. How should the software know which question type is to be used and the like?

--various options for open-response questions (OCR)
-> Have a look at manual -> question types

Thanks for the response!

Do you know of anyone who has used LimeSurvey with paper surveys? I would like to get some references to determine if LimeSurvey could be suitable for us.

I am interested in know what kind of scanning hardware can be used to import paper surveys into LimeSurvey etc.
