Classification Task was created by brigado
Hello!
I need to classify information into certain categories similar to the following example:
I have a collection of sentences and want to survey people on the emotion of this sentence. So is it happy, angry, etc.
Up to three (ranked) answers should be possible.
Also to get as much classifications as possible, once one participant classified a sentence, this sentence should not be shown to a different participant.
If participants could stop, save their answers and continue later that would be great, too.
Can I do this with LimeSurvey?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,
Yes, you can. But I believe you have lots of sentences, so, maybe the best is to do some custom coding for loading the sentence (and id) being rated from a file or DB.
So, out of the box, I don't picture much that can be done.
But with custom coding, it is totally possible.
Thanks

Thank you for your answer!
Could you point me at some documentation on LimeSurvey custom coding by any chance? The manual doesn't seem to hold any information on that.
Thanks!

Questions:
Open or closed survey?
How many sentences is one respondent to rate?
Closed survey:
You can use token attributes to define the sentences shown to one respondent.
Open survey:
You may store the sentences in a database on your server,
Do an ajax call in your survey to fetch the sentences and remove them from the database, so that nobody else will get this sentence to rate.

So each sentence is only showed once? Also to get as much classifications as possible, once one participant classified a sentence, this sentence should not be shown to a different participant.

I would do a custom plugin. On BeforeRender an equation question, you would set its value. That question would hold the id of the sentence being rated and show the body of the sentence.
The sentence can be chosen from a file or a table.
I don't have direct links to docs right now (on the phone). Just look for "plugin beforeRender".
Let me know if you need help with that.
Thanks
