Use a question as a hidden lookup was created by blocka
I have a list of 200 locations. They are either Big or Small.

Respondents to my survey will be asked to enter the location number. I would like a way to set a flag to use later to decide whether to show questions related to Big or Small locations.

What would be the easiest way to do this? The site location number has no structure that let's me determine size .. They are just numbered 1 through 200.

Please do not ask basically the same question twice. You are basically asking the same thing here: www.limesurvey.org/forum/can-i-do-this-w...-classifying-answers

If you feel you did not express yourself correctly in the other thread then either update your question or add an comment to it.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Hi, blocka,
Just an idea:
create a string "locstring" with the location numbers of small stores. Use the ones where there are less
#1#17#24#123#234#345#

With equation and function "strpos"

manual.limesurvey.org/Expression_Manager#Implemented_Functions

you decide if the entered location number (surrounded by "#") is in the string.
Yes = small
No = big

Regards
Joffm

P.S.
With a "locstring" like #001#012#056#123# you have to "strpad" your entered store numbers first.

Couldn't you use an equation question for "locstring"?
