I would like to use Lime Survey for Participatory Budgeting.

That means using it as a voting system, but instead of voting for people, budgets are created by voting for resource allocation.

Has anyone done this before, and can anyone suggest widgets and guidelines for holding such a vote?

Thanks,

Hello, arborrhythms,

After having to use a search engine here what I know about Participatory Budgeting now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Participatory_budgeting
And at the bottom you find some case studies explained.
And in this scottish reference http://www.demsoc.org/participatory-budgeting-in-scotland/ some specialized tools.

2. But, only you know how you are going to design the survey.
And if you have some specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards
Joffm

Thanks Joffm.

The 10-element array looks like a good candidate for a widget to elicit the relative importance of different budget (spending) categories.

I'm going to recommend LimeSurvey as the tool of choice to people interested in a tool for Participatory Budgeting.
