So I did something a bit like:

www.limesurvey.org/forum/can-i-do-this-w...ed-on-the-pre-answer

Is there a clever way to see all the answers paired with their rankings?

Hi,
I downloaded your question group.
But IMO there is nothing about ranking. ???

As I understand your two included questions, you want the in F001 entered features to appear in your dual matrix.

Well, see my attached example (your group). In F001 I only included up to 6 possible features; you can add more. You see the trick in the answer options.

And see the answer options of F002 with the relevance there

You get (screenshots)

And please, send a complete example. There were no answer options entered yet. A question of type "multi short text" also has answer options.
E.g. you could ask in such a question for name, address and e-mail. Then the respondent has to know what to enter in which field.

Best regards

Yeah - obvs that's not best described as ranking. I meant the 1-5 scale as in the question.

That's the general idea. Now I just need to figure out how to get a meaningful report...

Oh, you're talking about some summary or analysis.

Well, I tell you. This kind of design is IMO the worst you can do.

Let's have a look. The item is "Online Booking".
Participants can enter the same item in different fields.
They can misspell it. "Online Boking" or just use small letters
They can name it different "I can book online", "booking on website",...

And now you want to summarize all these - different - mentions of "online booking" over all columns with their respective ratings.
How do you think this can be done automatically?

We always advice our clients to do a pretest to collect these "wishes".
In the survey we have a fixed array with the ten or whatever most frequently mentioned wishes with rating.
Additionally we provide a few open ended fields to enter individual others. But without rating, just to collect.

This way you avoid to have thousands of "running lice" (This word comes from the time when you got meters of printouts from a data center. On many pages was only one single number, looking like a running louse)

Best regards
Joffm
