Export array responses without additional anchor text was created by jsibley
If one has an array with flexible labels such as the example in the manual:
Is there an easy way to export the labels without the additional text, so that one has only the numeric values, even for the anchor values (e.g., 1 - 6)?
Of course, there are ways to do the transformation in whatever platform is using the export, but I'm wondering if there is a way to do this as part of the export.
Thanks.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but during the export process of the results you can choose between "answer code" and "full text".

This should also be possible in the (older) version that you use!
@Holch: jsibley uses older version of LimeSurvey.

Well, jsibley did not mention the version he/she is using. The image provided is from the manual, so this is no indication.
Nevertheless, this exists for quite a while. I think it was already present in the 1.9 branch or even before. So the version used should not matter as long as it is not really, really ancient. It might look different though.

Thank you both. I appear to be running version 2.57.1.
So, if the values I want to use for analysis are 1 - 6, so that I can calculate a mean value, etc., I either need to translate SQ001 to 1 (and so on) or take away the anchor text for the first and last values? Is that correct? Thanks.

No, subquestion is different to the answer options.
In an normal array question the subquestion (Limesurvey gives them the codes SQXXX as a standard) are the vertical options, in your example "Deannan Troi", etc. Those are stored in separate columns and within that you will find the answer options that haven been chosen. If you export it with the option "answer codes", then you will find a column for Deannan Troi, that contains the codes that you gave each answer, hopefully from 1-6. When you create the subquestions and answer options you have two inputs per subquestion / answer option. The code and the name. In the code I usually would only use numbers, then in the name you can give it further description.

Assessment value is something totally different.
If you want Limesurvey to export codes like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, than you need to define it like this in "Code", don't use SQ001, etc. You can not export assessment values, because they are not saved in the database.

So, I see that I had a fundamental misunderstanding of how to set up my survey. Thanks for responding so quickly and so thoroughly!
