Display question text when there are subquestions was created by teracomp
This is probably something simple, but I couldn't find the answer. I'm trying to build a report that shows the question and subquestion answers without retyping the parent question in the report. The following code is what I want:
However, {C3BQ11.question} is shown as an error.
From the question summary:
Question group: Contribute: Me & The World (ID:6)
Code: C3BQ11 : (Mandatory question)
Question: In the past 12 months, how often were you involved in serving people/places?
How can I show the "parent" question text in my report?
Code:
Contribute Service: {C3BQ11.question} <-- this is NOT valid {C3BQ11_SQ001.question}: {C3BQ11_SQ001.shown} {C3BQ11_SQ002.question}: {C3BQ11_SQ002.shown} ... (total of 13 subquestions)
From the question summary:
Question group: Contribute: Me & The World (ID:6)
Code: C3BQ11 : (Mandatory question)
Question: In the past 12 months, how often were you involved in serving people/places?
How can I show the "parent" question text in my report?

As far as I know, this is an omission in Expression Manager. There doesn't seem to be a valid variable for the question text for questions containing sub-questions (multiple-choice, array...).

Same as Tony... no way!
You should use plain text!

Seems odd to me since the parent question text is obviously stored in the question table. In building an end report, I'd like to avoid maintaining the text of the question in the question and the report.
Is this a feature request? Or am I the only one who thinks it's a requirement?
It's not an urgent requirement, but seems like the method wouldn't be difficult to add (says the guy who's not maintaining the code )

I agree that this should be there. But it is not. As Tony and Ben said.
I think it is a feature request, I ran into this issue before as well. There might be actually already a feature request somewhere, but it is probably no big priority.
