Simple Response Scoring was created by HeidiRA
I am fairly new to LimeSurvey, so my question is pretty basic.

I have a questionnaire with 29 subquestions (array question type), and there are 5 possible responses for each (Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, Strongly Disagree). I want to assign a value of 5 to 1 respectively to these responses, so that a total score (across the 29 items) can be calculated for each respondent. It seems really straight forward, but after reading through the manual and trying things out, I can't seem to get it to work the way I want it to.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have two values that you can assign the values of 5 to 1 to.

1. Question code: Should work fine with what you need.
2. Assessment value: Needs the assessment option to be switched on and allows you to assign additionally to the question code a value to each answer option. This is especially valuable when you want to assing values that are not consecutive or when you want to assign the same value to more than one answer option.

Then you can read these values via Expression Manager and create a sum that you write into a equation question.
