Optional Question Groups was created by johnh530
We have a number of instruments which we would like to present to clients. For each instrument I have a single question group which has a single question of array type in it. We want each client to be randomly presented with instruments (groups). It is unlikely that they will have the patience to fill out all instruments(groups). We want them to answer all subquestions of a particular group(instrument) but give them an option to skip the question group and also be able to exit the survey but not clear the results.

How does one mark a group as not required?

Is there a alternative way to accomplish this?

TIA

Regarding the optional groups, you could...
  1. Make he arrays mandatory.
  2. Add a multiple-choice (check-box) question to each group. These questions have a single sub-question - "I don't wish to answer this group".
  3. Place relevance on the arrays depending on the check-box questions.

Regarding "exit the survey but not clear the results", well, the results are saved every time a group is submitted so I don't see what more you can do.
