I read somewhere that once you save and post a survey that that it cannot be edited again.
Is there a way to copy/duplicate a survey so that if you need to change something about it later you can? If so, how would you do this? Thanks.

There is a warning when activating a survey that you can't add new questions or sub-questions afterwards. This is due to the fact that once the survey was activated, the table for storing the answers is set up and that can't be extended later.

You can change a survey later. The problem is, once it is activated (as Mazi mentioned) it is becoming more difficult.
You would need to deactivate the survey, which would cause the current responses be archived. So you should backup the responses so far and download them as CSV file, so you don't loose the responses collected so far.
then you deactivate the survey and make the changes. then you can activate it again. As far as I know, it will give you the option to import the old responses again, but this is not always possible (depending on the changes made). So I would always save the responses to CSV, and you can bring the exported files later together in SPSS or Excel.
