A question group can be a lot of things. It could be a page, but it could also the logic grouping of questions.

I am sure you had already similiar cases. For example, I have group of questions, let's say "socio-demographics", but I would like to split them up over 2 or 3 pages. I either have to create the groups SD1, SD2, SD3, in Limesurvey or I could create just 1 group SD1 and have it split up into pages (which is currently not possible in Limesurvey). Or I could have more than one question group shown on one screen without going with the all in one mode. If you seperate the visual grouping into a page concept, you have the question group free for other things. So you could rotate questions groups, but the group could go over more than 1 page.

Ok, that makes sense to me. Not the visual separation of a page concept is missing. It's the lack of logical sets/collections of questions beside the optical separation that's missing. If Limesurvey devs would start implementing loops they would automatically add these logic sets/groups to define what will be looped. 2017 is the next chance to get some new features around questions into LS.

No, actually I think the "page" concept IS missing.

I would like to have groups of questions that I can define however it makes sense to me and I would like to be able to define how questions and question groups are distributed over "pages" or "screens" in a survey. Because the thematical or logical grouping doesn't necessary have to match the visual grouping or survey flow.

Dear Lime specialists... I can see that this may be one axis of development, but also that my problem can not be solved at the moment (even by investing time). So considering I'm not a developer (nor much money to invest) I will limit my project to simple groups (no block of groups).
I'm very used to use another web plateform, for academic projects. And this kind of situation was very easily solved: a random filter can be applied to a page, which may be a block of pages... Anyway, I'm not a LS contributor, so I can not be demanding! ;-)

Page concept stand for optical separation only, correct?
We seem to agree that we want visual groups (pages = questions groups in Limesurvey) and logical groups (not available in Limesurvey).
