You are probably using group by group survey mode. If you want to rotate groups/pages you can assign the same randomization group name on group level to the to be randomized groups.

Hello,
I have the same problem
Lime offers randomization between groups of questions (page per page).
For my part, I would like to randomize "blocks" of pages (no randomization between the pages into each block).
For example:
- Set 1 = 3 pages 1a, 1 b, 1 c
- Set 2 = 2 pages 2a, 2b
- etc.
Then I want to randomize the sets of pages (but pages remain in the same order into each block of pages).
Is that clear? Is this possible?
Thank you !!!

If a page is basically a group, then this isn't possible.

Hi Mazi, thanks, what do you mean? That is I consider a group of pages (group), then it is not possible ? Seeing how lime is open, I can't not believe it is not feasible (simply)!!

There are three survey modes at Limesurvey
- all in one
- question by question
- groups by group
If you make each set a block, it may work using group randomization. That's the only solution I can think of.

Hi Mazi
I'm sorry but I don't really understand what you mean with "If you make each set a block...".
What do you call a "set" ? and a "block" ?
Can you provide more details please? How can I create a "block of groups (of questions)" ?
Thank you very much

To put it in nutshell: Limesurvey only supports randomizing groups.
Thus, this isn't possible: "create a 'block of groups (of questions)'".

You can randomize order of questions groups in Limesurvey.
What you call pages is a questiongroup.
A workaround is to copy groups. If e.g. only Set 1 and Set2 is changing orders, you will use Set1A+Set2A AND Set2B+Set1B.
Via a random number you choose which two sets are displayed. This can get a lot of work if many sets have to randomized and if you need to change things after the copy took place.

There is no way to put groups into a set.- Set 1 = 3 pages 1a, 1 b, 1 c
- Set 2 = 2 pages 2a, 2b

Limesurvey doesn't have a "page" concept, which I think is one of the major flaws of survey layout with Limesurvey. You can "abuse" question groups to work as pages through the group-by-group mode. But this means that you can't use the question groups for logical grouping rather than visual grouping into pages anymore.
To make a long story short: If you are not willing to hack the code and implement a "page" concept additionally to the "group" concept you will not be able to do what you want out of the box.

What's missing is to additional group questions and choose which are fixed or randomized.
A JumpTo via conditions would allow to randomize the survey path too.
A conditioneditor for every question-group similar to this would help:

What is the difference between page concept or question group? I cannot see a real difference at the moment.holch wrote: Limesurvey doesn't have a "page" concept, which I think is one of the major flaws of survey layout with Limesurvey.
