Session lifetime option not showing was created by SarcoidosisUKResearchSurvey
Session lifetime (seconds) does not appear as an option on my Global settings > General. Is there somewhere else I can find it? Or a reason it may not be showing?

Version 3.16.1+190314

Thanks

Since we can not force session_life_time on a lot of server : it's used ONLY if you set session to DB.

Assistance on LimeSurvey forum and LimeSurvey core development are on my free time.
I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH member, professional service on demand , plugin development .
I don't answer to private message.

Hi Denis. Thanks for your reply. I don't know what "ONLY if you set session to DB" means please can you explain.
What are my other options for resolving a problem where participants find the survey times out in their browser?
Thanks

Check the php.ini settings for session handling.
www.php.net/manual/en/session.configurat...ssion.gc-maxlifetime
Default is 1440 seconds.

Depending on your hosting (e.g. shared hosting?), you might have to change the session name too.
If more than one installation of LimeSurvey is running on a shared server (with a shared sessionpath), the sessions could get mixed up.
