I have a group of 40 students who all need to run their own survey.
Instead of copying and pasting username/email address/fullname 40 times, is there a way to give LimeSurvey a file with one line per student (eg CSV) as a bulk upload?

No I am afraid that is not possible.
The question is: are 40 users necessary?

If...
- everyone can see surveys from others
- it is not bis deal when you just make the rule not to edit surveys from others

Than the best way is you provide one master user for all

Each student needs to create a different survey. Some demographic questions will be the same, but the detail will be different for each.

They should not be able to see each others' surveys, and certainly not interfere with them.

So you want prevent seeing the others surveys because each survey should be graded or so on their own?

Than I think you have to add each one manually.

No, each survey needs to be worded differently. Each user needs to be able to manage their survey separately.

Independently, they of course should not be able to see each others' surveys. That is always the case: no user should ever be able to see another's survey.

You saw that Helen opened a feature request for "bulk create users"?

So, if there is the possibility to "bulk create" some day we talk about your special requirements.

I did indeed, thanks. I will do the current batch by hand, but perhaps in future something like

username,email,fullname,label,participant,settings,surveys,templates,groups,users,super,db

would let the site maintainer bulk-create users and permissions, eg

jdoe,user@hostname.com,J Doe,C,V,U,D,I,E,C,,Y
